Anti-Estrogen Receptor Alpha
Estrogen receptor α (also known as ERα, ER-alpha, Estradiol receptor, Nuclear receptor subfamily 3 group A member 1) is a ligand-activated transcription factor belongs to steroid/thyroid hormone receptor superfamily. It is critically involved in regulating the normal function of reproductive tissues. ERα also regulates transcription by recruiting coactivator proteins and interacting with general transcriptional machinery. Its expression has been reported in nucleus of mammary gland, ovary, uterus, bone, testes, prostrate and adipose tissue. Estrogen receptor is highly expressed in pathological conditions such as breast carcinoma, endometrial carcinoma, and osteoporosis.
