Anti-c-erbB-2 (Her-2/neu)
Her-2/neu (c-erb-B2) gene product is a 185 kDa tyrosine kinase transmembrane glycoprotein. Her-2/neu ?belongs to erb gene family. ?Her-2/neu ?has been linked to prognosis and response to therapy with the anti-HER-2-humanized monoclonal antibody. ?The antibody CB11 is directed against the internal domain of this oncoprotein. Approximately 20-30% cases of breast cancer show an amplification and/or overexpression of Her-2 in tumor cells. Since there is an availability of the target therapy to Her-2 Neu positive tumors, the lab testing of Her-2/neu in breast carcinoma becomes very important in patient care
