Anti-CD227 (MUCIN 1)
Mucins are a family heavily glycosylated proteins of high molecular weight, (glycoconjugates) produced by many epithelial tissues in vertebrates. CD227 or mucin 1 encoded by the Muc-1 gene is a breast cancer associated mucin. CD227 is expressed on most secretory epithelium, including mammary gland and some hematopoietic cells. This protein is over expressed abundantly in >90% breast carcinomas and metastases.
