Anti-Histone H3 [PHH3/471R]
Histone H3 (also known as Histone H3.1t, H3/t, H3t, or H3/g) encoded by the gene HIST3H3/H3Ft, is one of the nuclear proteins responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes. They play a crucial role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, DNA replication and chromosomal stability. Acetylation and or methylation of Histone H3 occur in response to various stimuli and have a direct effect on the accessibility of chromatin to transcription factors and, therefore, gene expression. Hence, Histone H3 has been linked to various types of cancer as a biomarker through the aberrant expression of histone deacetylase (HDAC) enzymes and changes to chromatins.
